Victoria Fish

President and Inaugural Board Member

Victoria has been a Research Scientist with the Australian Wool Testing Authority for almost 20 years. Her role involves exploring the use of new technology to improve the efficiency and precision of wool testing, upholding the technical standards which underpin international wool trade, and performing research projects. Victoria is also member of the IWTO Contracts and Specifications Committee, and is affiliated with the WIA Technical Committee.

Victoria believes that a key to the sustainable future of the Australian Wool Industry is to draw on the skill and knowledge of the whole industry at the policy and decision-making level, and this is achieved by having more women in positions of influence. This is achieved through proactively developing the skills and confidence of women through education, mentoring, participation and networking.

Victoria has a Masters of Rural Science in Wool Metrology, from the University of New England. Her MBA dissertation was about improving the participation of women on company boards by developing skills based matrices to inform the board-member selection process.

Outside of the wool industry, Victoria is a committee member of the Altona Swimming Club and the local Green Team sustainability committee. Victoria enjoys spending time with her family, friends and two dogs Theo and Chilli.
